I don't want to talk about it.

It's still too raw- I've never had a band split that I've loved dearly. At least when I've been aware of them... (read- The Libs)

Yes, I know- quite a few of the songs sound the same, lyrically, but my GOD, does Noel do a good job with the tunes... the strings on 'Stand By Me?' COME. ON. They're insane.

And now it's Liam's band. Our Kid, who wrote 'Songbird.'

Oh my.

RIP, Oasis.

Nice!

The Arctics third album goes in at #1. Just like the first two. Got it today, and I must say, 'Cornerstone' is one of the best things I've heard in... forever.

Arctic Monkeys' third album 'Humbug' is Number One - it out-sold the rest of the Top Five combined - while the east London rapper has scored his third chart-topper in a row with 'Holiday'.

If wishes were horses....

The Hills' Spencer Pratt Wants to Be the Next Brad Pitt

On a related note, I want to put everyone who irritates me on a rocket to the sun, which is also not going to happen.

Though Spedi would be on said rocket if it did...

Things that frighten me for $1000, Alex

At work, Mom has started putting my iPod on the Weller/Style Council/Jam playlist. A LOT.

This is why

I adore The Wire- he's just a big cross-dressing fanboy...

Nicky Wire, Manic Street Preachers

Patience, Take That

This is not an ironic choice. It's the greatest comeback single in history. If Neil Young had written it, people would be calling it a masterpiece. I've always liked Take That, too. They looked so brilliant back in the day and did everything right, but this is something else. It's got such a dark lyric: "My heart is numb, has no feeling/ So while I'm healing/ Just try and have a little patience". There's also a maturity about it that suits the boys all grown-up. Gary Barlow is a genius; I won't have anyone argue against him. When Alex Turner slagged off Take That at the 2006 Q awards for getting an award, I nearly lost it. James [Dean Bradfield from the Manics] was grabbing me by the arm, saying: "Don't lose it, Nicky." You get so many alternative bands banging on about how to make perfect pop, and this kicks all their arses.

'Where Did All the Love Go?'- Kasabian

Great track, fantastic album. And Serge has eyeliner on, bless.

Oh my

'Cocksucker Blues' finally, um, leaked, online...

The Rolling Stones'banned documentary 'Cocksucker Blues' has appeared online.

The film, commissioned by the band for their 1972 US tour to be covered by photographer Robert Frank, was banned by the band due to its content, which included drug taking and various other rock 'n' roll antics.

Tee hee

A song about handjobs on the critical 3rd album. God, I love young Master Turner.

On an unrelated note, am completely disturbed that not only does Cookie now have a beard, he's no longer as darlin' as he used to be.

There are many avenues open to Turner, but perhaps the one you would least expect him to take is to start writing songs about his penis. And yet, here he is, opening Humbug with My Propeller, on which he spends three and a half minutes using a string of aviation metaphors in what appears to be a protracted attempt to convince someone to – and let's not be needlessly bashful here – wank him off. "I can't get it started on my own," he leers. "'Ave a spin of my propeller."

Holy moly

Yes, yes, the Libs (minus John, who was apparently busy with, um, Yeti) reuniting for a gig is very, very, very exciting.

BUT PADDY PLAYED WITH ZEE SHAMBLES AGAIN!!!! PATRICK MOTHERFUCKING WALDEN!!!! PLAYING 'PIPEDOWN!!!!!'

TO THE YOUTUBE!

Babyshambles played a set before the reunion, taking the stage at 2:15am (BST) to play seven songs: 'I Wish', 'Killamangiro', 'Delivery', 'UnStookietitled', 'Back From The Dead', 'Baddie’s Boogie' and 'Albion'.

Then to the sound of screams and cheers from the crowd Barat took to the stage and strapped on a guitar, while Powell set up behind the drum kit. Babyshambles bassist Drew McConnell remained on stage to complete the four-piece.

The four-some launched into a frenetic version of early Libertines hit 'What A Waster', with Barat and Doherty sharing a microphone as they sang the lyrics. They then played 'Up The Bracket', 'What Katy Did', 'Can't Stand Me Now', 'Time For Heroes' and 'Death On The Stairs', with Doherty leaping into the crowd near the end of the short set.

Barat and Powell left the stage to more cheers then Babyshambles' Adam Ficek and Mick Whitnall returned – plus a surprise guest.

The band were joined by their former guitarist Pat Walden, now playing with three-piece Big Dave, for the finale, playing 'Pipedown' and 'Fuck Forever' to close the eventful show in kinetic fashion.

Awwwwwwww

America's first family have chosen a six-month-old Portuguese water dog to be the first pet.

President Barack Obama's daughters, 10-year-old Malia and
seven-year-old Sasha, have settled on a black and white pup, a White House official told the Associated Press last night.

The dog, a gift from the Massachusetts senator Ted Kennedy, who ownsseveral Portuguese water dogs, will make his debut on Tuesday afternoon.

The Washington Post reported that Obama's daughters chose the
name Bo for the pup because
Michelle Obama's father was nicknamed Diddley – an apparent reference to the singer Bo Diddley.

According to the newspaper, the dog has "tuxedo-black fur, with a white chest, white paws and a rakish white goatee".

Sad

Miss Goody may have been many things, but 27 is awfully young to pass on to the next world...

Despite undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy, Goody learned in February that cancer had spread to other organs and was warned she had only a short time to live. The prognosis propelled her to try to secure the financial future of her two young sons – Bobby, five, and Freddie, four – through a series of media deals thought to be worth £1m.

The former dental nurse shot to fame on the 2002 series of Big Brother where she was ridiculed by media commentators for her appearance and ignorance – she asked whether East Anglia was "abroad" and thought Rio de Janeiro was a person. She came fourth and spent the next couple of years making the most of her fame – producing keep-fit DVDs, opening a beauty salon, writing her autobiography, launching her own perfume and appearing on television shows including Wife Swap and Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes.

The public turned against her in 2007 after she was accused of racism and bullying towards Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty on Celebrity Big Brother. More than 45,000 people complained to the media regulator Ofcom about Goody's behaviour towards Shetty.

Goody visited India to apologise for the distress her actions had caused and had hoped her appearance on, Bigg Boss, the India version of Big Brother would also help to make amends.

Hopefully this will lead to increased numbers of women seeking cervical cancer screenings.

RIP, Jade.

Happy St. Paddy's!

Boy,

The Vatican is batting a thousand these days....

Pope Benedict XVI provoked a furious response from Aids campaigners on the first day of his visit to Africa when he declared that distributing condoms only 'aggravates' the problems inflicted by the condition.
