Led Zeppelin played a storming show at their first UK in 19 years at the 02 Arena in London tonight (December 10).The long-awaited performance was the headline slot at a tribute show for Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, who died earlier this year and was instrumental in building the band's career in the 1970s. Frontman Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones were joined by Jason Bonham on drums - son of John, the band's original drummer who died in 1980 signalling the end of the original band's 12-year career.

There had been brief reformations before - including Live Aid in 1985 - but tonight was the first full set the group had played since headlining Knebworth in 1979.

An estimated nine million people applied for the 18,000 tickets, and despite the quiet sound there was mass hysteria as the band performed their classics before a crowd including Paul McCartney, Oasis' Noel and Liam Gallagher, Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, Lulu, Arctic Monkeys, Kate Moss and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.

If La Moss is wearing them, then every feature on denim in every fashion/female magazine will be showing flares as the "new, super-flattering trend, guaranteed to improve your sex life, advance your career and ensure super blissful happiness" within 6 months.

So frickin' predictable. This isn't meant to denigrate Kate's* influence whatsoever. However, it doesn't seem like fashion editors try too hard sometimes...

Kate Moss is more or less the leader of fashion trends, especially when it comes to jeans. Love her or hate her, she single-handedly pioneered skinny jeans to the point that we all thought we couldn't live without them.

Now, days before her latest Topshop launch, Ms Moss has been seen sporting flared jeans. Is this possibly a hint of what we might see from her latest collection?

Flared jeans are obviously much easier to wear than skin tight skinny
jeans, especially if (like me) you have hips! The larger flare balances out the shape. These two pairs are available on the high street now for under £30! Flares should be slightly higher waist than you've been used to which makes them more flattering.

*and I'm not just saying this because I bought two pairs of flares recently. Because I saw Katherine wearing them. I'm weak like a kitten.

What Became Of the Likely Lad?

1. Peter will be v.v.v.v.v. sorry and promise oh so sincerely to change his ways

2. Boyfriend won't show up at all

Your guess is as good as mine, though I'm guessing the former rather than the latter, as he's still trying to get back with La Moss.

Pete Doherty is due in court at 10am tomorrow morning (August 7).The Babyshambles singer is due to attend West London Magistrates Court to be sentenced for a drugs charge.Doherty pleased guilty to possessing class A drugs on July 3, and was ordered to reappear for sentencing tomorrow.The charges releate from May 5 when he was stopped by police in Kensington High Street, central London. Having pleaded guilty to possessing quantities of crack, heroin, cannabis and ketamine, as well as two driving offences, the singer is also facing an additional charge of failing to appear in court without reasonable excuse after he turned up late to the initial hearing.

The Gossip frontwoman Beth Ditto has declared new best pal Kate Moss "amazing." The unlikely pair have bonded in recent months and, speaking in this week's NME, Ditto has revealed that they are in agreement about one major issue.

"Kate is amazing. I spent one night talking to her and she just said the most amazing things about bodies," explained Ditto. At first I didn't think I was going to like her, but she just turned up to one of our shows and said, 'Do you know what I hate, Beth? I hate it when people tell my big girlfriends, 'You have a beautiful face...' I mean, that's a really radical concept."

She added: "You can't hate a person for dieting, and you can't blame a person for feeling shit about themselves.
