Tee hee
On an unrelated note, am completely disturbed that not only does Cookie now have a beard, he's no longer as darlin' as he used to be.
There are many avenues open to Turner, but perhaps the one you would least expect him to take is to start writing songs about his penis. And yet, here he is, opening Humbug with My Propeller, on which he spends three and a half minutes using a string of aviation metaphors in what appears to be a protracted attempt to convince someone to – and let's not be needlessly bashful here – wank him off. "I can't get it started on my own," he leers. "'Ave a spin of my propeller."

I don't know whether to be alarmed or proud
Mom replied, "Who'd want to be a man of the people when there's people like him?"
She made an Arctic Monkeys reference.
Again, alarmed? Proud?
How about alarmoud?

A-dorable
Are you similar people? "Yeah," says Miles. "Our families like each other too. They met for the first time when we were on Later With Jools Holland and got on like a house on fire."
"My Mum and his mum have the same kitchen table," says Alex. "When I went back to stay at his I realised his mum had loads of the same stuff. Did my head in, that."

They're already entirely too adorable,
What other stories have irked her? "There was a really upsetting one when Alex had written me a Valentine card and I had accidentally left it in a bar. And someone sold it to the Sun and then they printed it, and they changed it so it didn't look like a Valentine card, and they just said it was a love letter. They slated him for being really soppy."Look, it's my boyfriend and it's Alex. Of course it's gonna be written like a story."
Was he peeved? "He was really cool with it," she says, "and he said, 'I'm not upset that everyone saw it because that's the truth and I couldn't give a shit.' And then he went [Chung dons a comedy northern accent], 'Eh, but at least you've got a copy of it now, eh?'"

Awwww, lads.
Arctic Monkeys won the Best British Band award at the Brit Awards 2008 tonight (February 20) in London. The band were dressed up in traditional English rural clothing for the event, resembling old fashioned farmers, sporting brown wellies and flat caps.
“Thank you everybody. We’re the Arctic Monkeys. We are the most fantastic,” said front-man Alex Turner, before blowing a large horn he had brought on stage into the microphone.

Monkeys On Film
MANCHESTER has been the back-drop for a radical new documentary following indie sensations the Arctic Monkeys as they played their landmark gigs at Old Trafford over the weekend.
The band, who played to around 100,000 fans over two nights at Lancashire County Cricket Ground, were being followed by uber-cool Britflick director Shane Meadows - the man behind acclaimed films This Is England and Dead Man's Shoes for a new rockumentary.
The Sheffield band are huge fans of the director - and even played clips of his films on big screens at the gigs on Saturday and Sunday night. The new film was made over five days, following the lads as they prepared for their massive open-air concerts and as they relaxed with family and friends at the five-star Lowry Hotel in Salford. But the twist is that the "star" of the film is fictional break-dancing roadie "Le Donk", a comedy character played by movie star Paddy Considine and first created by the actor with long-time collaborator Shane eight years ago.

Go lads!

Arctic Monkeys have played their biggest shows of their lives, as they performed at Lancashire County Cricket Club's Old Trafford ground this weekend (July 28 and 29). Recalling generation-defining performances from the likes of The Stone
Roses at Spike Island or Oasis at Knebworth, the band performed to 100,000 people over the two shows.Despite suffering a bit of technical trouble on the first night (28), the band rose to occasioning, playing two storming sets.

I WANNA GO, I WANNA GO
The Winehouse showed up with her game, sober face on, and the Arctics ripped it up. And I'm in Iowa.
Crap.
Hope the lads repeat this on Sunday. I am so proud of them.
So there we have it: the definitive lesson in how to rise to stadium-band level whilst totally retaining your cool and not turning in Bono or Johnny Borrell-style dickheads.
Make no mistake, tonight the Arctics were incredible.
Rather than drape the stage in huge set pieces, rely on fireworks and gimmicks, the lads played it like they were still playing the Barnsley Birdwell, standing no further than a few feet from each other and not bothering with a drum riser - a tight rock’n’roll unit blasting out hit after hit after hit. There was no sign of nerves and they looked comfortable in being up there – even after the technical hitch – but were more humble than cocky.
And then, of course, there’s the tunes.
If there was any doubt that ‘A Certain Romance’, ‘Fake Tales Of San Francisco’ and ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ – once scratchy post-Libs garage rock tunes - could work in front of 50,000 people were blown out the water tonight.
