Fierce Bitches

Sarah, Florence Welch, Little Boots and Nicola at the NME's.
Holy moly, Flo is an Amazon and how tiny is Little Boots? Because the GA contingent has on their big girl heels....

Awwww

Randoms

from the NME awards...

Nic and Sar look Darlin'

And sadly, though Petey (without his usual Catholic bling) won Best Solo Artist, he
didn't bring any of his kitties along. Sad. that.
This made me giggle-

...Oasis, who won best British band. The group's Noel Gallagher triumphed in the best blog category, but was pipped in the hero of the year section by US President Barack Obama.

Cue the sound

of a million fangirls squeeing in 3...2...1....

If you want the really random gossip though, just ask The Mighty Boosh comedian Noel Fielding.

After beating the likes of Gavin and Stacey to Best TV, he explained his experiences over dinner.

"I'm sitting next to Brandon from The Killers so that's quite fun," he said.

"We keep making silly remarks like schoolboys, like we're 13 and laughing. And Pete Doherty just bit my ear really hard for a photo.

We don't know each other that well and we had to be intertwined, and it all got a bit steamy and he bit my ear - Mike Tyson style! Insane."

One of my favorites

from the Oscars- Freida Pinto in John Galliano.

Also, how cute is this?

“I am very clumsy,” confessed Pinto, a 24-year-old who had never made a film before. “Angelina Jolie and Kate Winslet have been looking out for me, telling me to relax, but I am not sure whether I can breathe, wave and walk at the same time without falling over.”

Holy bodacious actress, Batman!

'Mad Men' actress Christina Hendricks at the Emmys. I say this as a straight woman, but that is a Figure. Yes, I meant to capitalize that. A Figure.

VMA's

general commentary as it occurs AKA liveblogging

-Brit Brit looks GOOD

-Little Miss Sunshine's gone all Thunderdome.

-Oh My God, Russell's entrance song is 'Rock and Roll Star' by Oasis.

-He's endorsing Obama. Nice...

-Calls Bush a "Retarded Cowboy." Oh dear, the wingers are going to freak. Nothing new then.

- He WENT THERE with the Jonas Brothers virginity rings. God Bless you, Russ.

-Katy Perry is attempting to sing 'Like A Virgin.' KEEP AWAY FROM THE JONAS BROTHERS! ...who are, in my opinion, the Osmond Brothers Version 2.0... and now they're performing. Oh God, make it stop.

-LiLo looks good. Shame about the tuxedo shirt/halter top hybrid

-The Pussycat Dolls SHOULD win the award for best dancing in a video. They're dancers, hello?

-Somebody needs to pull Lil' Wayne's pants up so we don't see, er, Lil'er Wayne.

-I can't decide who Hayley from Paramore wants to be more- Debbie Harry or Shirley Manson

-Slash and Shia LeBeouf are presenting 'Best Rock Video' together. The mind boggles.

-Pink's hair is adorable, as is her dress. Don't quite get the set performance thing, though.

-The Ting Tings. Ahhhhh, bless. Katie looks cute.

-What the sam hell is going on with Pete Wentz's collar?

-Ah Christ, Jordin Sparks is going on about the damned promise rings. John Legend, for some reason, looks uncomfortable/uninterested. "Not everyone wants to be a slut." Seriously, STFU Jordin.

-The cast of 'High School Musical' is on soon. Right, that's it. I'm too old for this shit.

Ye Gods

Russell Brand will host this year's MTV Video Music Awards, it was announced today (July 24).The famed British comedian, known primarily to US audiences for his turn as the rock-star boyfriend in the film 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall', will helm the event, which takes place September 7 at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles.

Dear Jesus,
Please have Russell bring in Noel Fielding for an opening sequence where they re-enact the whole Justin Trousersnake/Ms. Jackson bit from the Superbowl halftime show. Or something.

In return, I promise not to commit any of the deadly sins for the next minute or so.

Kisses,
Cy

Oh, Matty

Why are you eating a candy apple whilst chatting with Radio1 DJs? And where does one get candy apples at the NME awards?

Another one

of my bass-playing "boyfriends," Mr. Nicholas (Jones) Wire. I swear to y'all, I liked guitar-guitar players not but a year ago... Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
"That was the one I turned up for! It was between me and Patrick Wolf!"
Oh, Nicky....

WANT.
