Today in "not shocking"

Ronnie Wood called time on one of the most high-profile benders in rock history last night when he checked in to an alcoholism clinic. Despite his advancing years, the Rolling Stones guitarist found himself back in the spotlight after it emerged that he was holed up in his Irish mansion, drinking two bottles of vodka a day with a Russian cocktail waitress 41 years his junior.

Wood, 61, was apparently persuaded to leave his Co Kildare mansion, where he has built his own pub, by his son Jesse. The pair flew back to Britain by private jet on Tuesday night, prompting speculation that he was trying to salvage his 23-year marriage to Jo.

Glorious

Alexander McQueen's 'Blow' handbag...

Croc, brassy hardware... lovely, darlings, just lovely.

Hee hee

Going to gift show for the shop this weekend. Two and a half solid days of gluttony, booze, shopping and me dragging the others around downtown Chicago looking for obscure Brit import Cd's. And music mags. And books.

You get the picture.

And the samples, DEAR LORD, the samples.

In order to entice the buyers, most vendors provide samples. And/or free drinkies. The best offer both. We at Iowa's Coolest Flower Shop are partial to
Archipelago Botanicals and Thymes Unlimited samples. Why?

1. They are posh
2. They are easily stolen obtained from their large containers in the showrooms

In other words, I'll be calling QB and Kaz all weekend, bragging about the prime samples/booze/muso/food frenzy J and I have embarked upon. And they'll just be dying of envy.

Wait, those beeotches are going to see Russell Brand's stand-up gig this weekend.

Heifers.

Never mind.

Ah....

So that's why Pete was in Newcastle...

Pete Doherty has played at the wake of a 16-year-old fan who died from cancer. The Babyshambles singer and ex-boyfriend of Kate Moss formed a special bond with Daniel Squires after meeting him last year. Daniel died in his mother Becky's arms on July 4 after losing his battle with bone cancer.

Doherty, 28, attended the wake at the Golden Lion pub in Jarrow, South Tyneside, and spent an hour with the family. He took to the stage with his guitar, teaming up with one of Daniel's friends for an emotional tribute
following the funeral at South Shields Crematorium.

The boy may be constantly conducting chemistry experiments upon himself, but he has a good heart.

Banksy's posh?

No kidding...

While many have claimed to know who he is, the only reliable facts are that he hails from Bristol and his first name is Robin. Now the mystery surrounding the identity of Banksy may have been solved by a newspaper which has published a picture of a man whose antecedence is more public school than street artist.

The Mail On Sunday says it traced the artist using a photograph purporting to show Banksy at work with spray cans in Jamaica in 2004. Former friends and acquaintances identify the man in the picture as Robin Gunningham, a former pupil of the £9,420-a-year Bristol Cathedral School.

Since his emergence as a leading street artist, Banksy's work attracts six-figure price tags. In January a piece of his edgy graffiti in Portobello Road, west London – which shows a painter finishing off the word "Banksy" – received a bid of £208,100 in an online auction.
