Things that frighten me for $1000, Alex

At work, Mom has started putting my iPod on the Weller/Style Council/Jam playlist. A LOT.

Whoa

Man, Duffy must be tiny-even jacked up on her perfect heels, she's still smaller than Wellah, who isn't exactly a giant.
Sorry, Paul.

My favorite Pauls

Smith and Weller.

JW: It's your 21st album; there are 21 tracks on it. So why's it called 22 Dreams?
PW: You have to hold one back for yourself. You can't give them all away.
PS [misty-eyed]: That's lovely.

This makes me happy.*

Oh so very happy.

PAUL WELLER’s new album is already shaping up to be a belter-featuring collaborations with Britpop heavyweights NOEL GALLAGHER and GRAHAM COXON.

The modfather has called in support from the OASIS legend and the BLUR star on his forthcoming double album. And word is filtering back that some of the material is a return to his best.

A source said: “Noel and Oasis’s GEM ARCHER have spent time at Weller’s studio. Most sessions end in serious alcohol fuelled tear-ups. But the music has been brilliant.

“Weller slapped his name on the writing credits first with Noel and Gem - even though he spent most of the session getting the beers in. That’s the bonus of being 50 - and the guv’nor.”

*if it's true- 'tis The Sun, after all

I am going to need this

Paul Weller is to release an expanded version of his 1993 album 'Wild Wood'.

The new version is out on October 29, and will feature demo tracks and radio session songs, as well as B-sides from the period. The 2CD set will, as well as the original album, feature 15 previously unreleased demo versions of the album tracks and three BBC radio session recordings. The reissue will also include a 32-page booklet and will come in deluxe digipack packaging.

Without any exaggeration whatsoever, I have listened to 'Hung Up' off this album about 500 times. It is GORGEOUS. Hear it for yourself......

'Come Together'- Smokin' Mojo Filters

Sir Paul, Wellah and Big Brother. From the 'War Child' benefit album.

With special appearances by Steves Craddock and White, Carleen Anderson, Linda McCartney and La Moss. Thankfully, the last two aren't part of the recording process.

'Talk Tonight'- Noel and Wellah!

While some might say* that many Oasis lyrics do not make a lick of sense (how does walk slowly down a hall, and still be faster than a cannonball), you can't deny that Big Brother can write a hell of a melody. And with lovely Paul-on-the-keys bonus.....

*sorry about that

Oh, MY! Part 2

Um, Wellah is looking, uh, FIT, in this pic.

I'm going to NEED this book

in the worst way.....

Paul Weller has collaborated with legendary Beatles artist Peter Blake on a new book. Blake, famous for designing the cover of the 1967 classic 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', the cover of Oasis' best of 'Stop The Clocks' plus Weller's own 'Stanley Road' album, has created the cover for 'Suburban 100', a collection of Weller lyrics. The volume, out September 6, will bring together lyrics from 100 of the star's songs, and features personal annotations by Weller himself.

This Old Town

Mr. Weller, Mr. Coxon, Mr. Starkey and Mr. Mounfield on Jonathan Ross's show last night.

I'm dying here

Weller, my new boy-Graham, Mani and Zak Starkey. Wossy is trying to kill me, too.

Please, Gods of YouTube, have this up and running ASAP this weekend.

PAUL WELLER and GRAHAM COXON have formed a supergroup for a one-off
performance on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross tomorrow. The ex-JAM frontman and former BLUR guitarist have called on ex-STONE ROSES bassist MANI to help them play tracks from their new double A-sided single.
They’ve also enlisted OASIS drummer ZAK STARKEY for the pots and pans.

This is so cool

The BBC is currently doing a series on "The Seven Ages of Rock," and has a really cool section on their site that has pictures and information about all the bands profiled.

I love this pic of The Roses. God, they were babies!

I do have one problem, though.... WHERE THE FUCKING FUCK IS THE FUCKING JAM IN THIS FUCKING SERIES?

Brit Pop? Indie? Most music since 1978? Wouldn't have evolved in the same way without Paul, Bruce and Rick.

Modfather for versuscancer

FUCK ME! This is going to be a hell of a show!

MODFATHER Paul Weller is the latest legend to sign up for Manchester charity extravaganza Versus Cancer.

The former Jam and Style Council frontman, who has topped charts over three decades with tracks like The Eton Rifles, Shout to the Top, and Wild Wood, will join a star-studded line-up at the MEN Arena show.

The March 30 concert, organised by former The Smiths' bassist Andy Rourke and his charity the Great Northern Aid Trust, promises to raise thousands for cancer research, with charities like Christie Hospital set to benefit.

Stone Roses singer Ian Brown, Echo and the Bunnymen, and nineties soul-rockers McAlmont and Butler are already confirmed, and Paul Weller is expected to team-up on stage with Charlatans singer Tim Burgess.
