Boyz 'N the Hood's John Singleton has reportedly signed on to direct the long-awaited big screen version of cheesy 80s TV show The A-Team. Latino Review says the film-maker, whose portfolio in recent years has included the likes of 2 Fast 2 Furious and the remake of Shaft, has agreed to shoot a new version of the story of Colonel Hannibal Smith and his merry band of Vietnam vets.
Series creator Stephen J Cannell has been trying to get an A-Team feature off the ground for a number of years. The plan is to update the series to the modern day, with Smith's team now comprising veterans of the Iraq war. There would also be a more serious tone than the TV show, and - in a landmark move - characters who are shot at in the new version may actually expire.
*at one point, I recall reading that The Clooney had read for the role of Hannibal, and have since become ever so slightly fixated this. Just a little bit.

I always liked Dirk Benedict.
We have an ongoing joke at work about Mom, Denise, Jen, Patti and myself being the "A-Team," and our fill-in help being the "B-Team."
Obviously, I'm Murdock. As am howling mad.
